Business development is necessary, because we automatically lose customers for a variety of reasons: death, moving house, switching to a competitor. So you have to look for new customers to replace those you&#8217;re losing, take on the competition, <a href=\"https:\/\/actionclient.com\/en\/crm-how-to-use-it-to-increase-sales\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">increase sales and develop sales<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">High-level business development<\/h2>\n\n<p>To develop business at company level, follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"list-style-type:1\">\n<li><strong>Look for potential markets<\/strong>, scanning different areas and markets to find out what might be of interest to the company.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Identify the most interesting markets<\/strong>, those with the greatest potential. It&#8217;s often the competition&#8217;s big customers who are poorly served by current suppliers, asleep at the switch.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Target the priority niches<\/strong> to attack based on the strengths we have to reach them. These targets need to be entered into your <a href=\"https:\/\/actionclient.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CRM<\/a> in order to reach them operationally.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Create a <a href=\"https:\/\/challenge-action.com\/le-marketing-internet-du-futur\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">marketing<\/a> offer to reach them<\/strong>: this is the <a href=\"https:\/\/challenge-action.com\/historique-et-evolution-du-marketing-mix\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">marketing mix or the 4 P&#8217;s<\/a>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Product, i.e. our offer and its added value<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Price<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advertising, Promotion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sell your best<\/strong> at every meeting, and use <a href=\"https:\/\/actionclient.com\/en\/how-to-increase-your-sales\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">all the means at your disposal to increase your sales<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Business development at sales team level<\/h2>\n\n<p>The steps are more down-to-earth and boil down to this:<\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"list-style-type:1\">\n<li><strong>Seek out new prospects<\/strong>, in order to obtain new prospecting lists, the three solutions are as follows\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Create them yourself<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Buy them<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ask marketing to do it<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Target the best customers<\/strong>&#8211; each list can contain hundreds of names or customers. This means targeting the best, the ones with the most potential or the easiest to reach. Preferred targets are those who have gone to your website to find information. Once you&#8217;ve targeted your customers, you enter them into your CRM.
